Booking

Thank you for your interest in my work!

I did my best to answer the questions that clients tend to have regarding my booking process.

Please take a look over the following info and feel free to email me if you have any more questions at taylardobbietattoos@gmail.com.

How do I book an appointment?

I’m currently tattooing by appointment only at Spring Fever Tattoo, located at 10 Carden St, Guelph, Ontario.

I open my books every 3 - 4 months and book appointments 3 or so months at a time. Due to the amount of requests I normally receive I only accept tattoo requests during the 24 hr window when my books open. This allows me to condense my scheduling process so I can really focus on drawing and tattooing in the months following.

Appointments are chosen on a project by project basis and are not strictly first come first served. I only have a limited amount of available appointments for each booking period and I do my best to fit in as many clients as possible! Depending on the amount of submissions I can’t guarantee that I can accommodate every request. If you don’t get in on a booking round that doesn’t mean that I don’t like your idea! I read through every request one at a time and start booking clients in starting with the requests that align with the subject matter that I’m prioritizing that booking round. If you don’t get booked in please resubmit the next time my books open and hopefully our stars will align better then.

What does the booking process look like?

To submit to my books opening you’ll be asked to fill out a google form with your information and tattoo idea. I’ll let submissions roll in over a 24 hr window before I close the form again. If you’d like to be booked into my upcoming round make sure to have the following info ready to go and the date marked in your calendar!

  1. When my books open I will send out the submission link to mine & Spring Fevers newsletters along with posting the link in my instagram bio.

    2. To submit you will need to thoroughly fill out the form with all necessary information. Only forms that have been filled out thoroughly will be considered. The goal of this form is to collect all of the information that I need and cut down on unnecessary back and forth emailing. Your form should give me all of the information I need in order to book you in and design a tattoo that you will really love!

    3. Once the submission window has closed I’ll be hustling through all of the submissions that I’ve received. I’ve been getting pretty efficient at getting through everything but please plan some patience when waiting to hear back from me. Normally it takes a week or two for me to contact clients but it could take up to 3 weeks if I have a full plate.

    4. Once I’ve gone through everyone I start contacting everyone with either more questions or my booking email that will include a 48 hr link to book in. I’ve switched my scheduling over to using square appointments and have been loving it! When booking in be sure to read the booking email and follow the instructions on the type of appointment to book and what time to book it for. A perk of doing it this way is it allows clients to see what dates I have available and pick the date that works best for them.

    5. When you book your appointment you’ll be asked for a $100 deposit ($200 for full days). This amount will not be charged until I’ve accepted the appointment. Deposits are non refundable and will go towards the final cost of your tattoo. I require a minimum of 48 hrs notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. If given 48 hrs notice your deposit will be moved to your new appointment time.

What information do I need to include in my submission?

Availability

What days you're able to get tattooed and what days you are unavailable over the next 3 months. I’m currently booking clients at Spring Fever weekdays but my schedule will vary based on the week. You will have the best chance of getting scheduled for your tattoo if you are available multiple days. Ex. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

Description

Please write a thorough description of your desired tattoo. Include as much information as you can while keeping it clear and to the point. That way I don’t miss anything can still get a thorough idea for what you’re looking to get.

Size

What size would you like your tattoo? Ex. In inches, palm or hand size?

Placement

Where on your body would you like your tattoo?

Will we be working with or around any existing tattoos, piercings, scar tissue etc.? If possible please include a straight on, naturally lit photo of the area we would be working around. Using your self timer on your phone or asking a friend to help tends to work the best!

Reference Photos

Please include 2  to 5 reference photos that will give me an idea of what you’re hoping for. I love using these as a jumping off point when drawing. Also if there’s anything specific that should be noted in your reference images please include that in your description aswell so I know it’s an important piece when designing your tattoo.

Accommodations

Do you require any accommodations that I should be aware of prior to our appointment? For example, needing assistance when entering & leaving the building, extra stretch breaks, a privacy divider etc.

Other fun FAQ, because why not

What kind of subject matter are you interested in tattooing?

I’m always excited to get request for:

-Pet Portraits

-Folky Critters

-Memorial Animals

-Animals in Their Homes

-Bones & Skulls

-Knick Knacks

-Flora & Fauna

-Birds

Can I see the drawing before our appointment?

I have all drawings ready for the day of the appointment and do not show drawings beforehand. Don’t worry though, I make sure to book time at the beginning of all appointments to allow for minor modifications and adjustments to the design if needed. All information that I will need to design your tattoo should be included in your submission form.

Consults

If you would prefer to chat in person prior to your appointment I can absolutely accommodate that just mention that you’d like to also book a consult in your submission. I prefer doing consultations in person but if you’re from out of town and would prefer a virtual consult please let me know and we can make it work.

Please note I’m unable to tattoo you if you are,

under 18 years old, currently breastfeeding, pregnant, on antibiotics or blood thinners.

What’s your hourly?

My hourly rate is $190 + tax.

When booking I schedule clients roughly based on how many hours the piece should take. Those appointment blocks include a rough quote for what your tattoo final cost will be. If you’d like a more thorough quote when booking just let me know and I’m happy to provide one.

Do you take on coverups?

Due to the nature of my work I don't often take on cover ups. If requesting a cover up please include a photo of the tattoo you’d like to cover in your submission. I’m always happy to take a look and see if I can help and if not recommend another local artist who might be a good fit.

I also prefer not to add text elements to my tattoo designs as I find that it can take away from the flow of the design on the body. I prefer to replace text with a visual element that will represent the text instead.

Is it possible to book a matching tattoo with a friend or family member?

I can absolutely accommodate matching tattoos with you and a friend/family member. Please be sure to include both of your information in one booking form. If you’d like to both be in the shop for your appointments please be sure to have flexible availability.

What types of payment do you accept?

Cash and e-transfer are preferred. But I can also accept credit transactions will have 3.3% square processing fee added to the total.
